FlamencoFredag in collaboration with Medelhavsmuseet
FlamencoFredag is back at Medelhavsmuseet diving into the roots of flamenco tradition.
One of these roots is the sefardi, that continued to live outside of Spains fronters in hundreds of years. Experience Irene Pelayo Lind and Afra Rubino’s flamenco interpretations of the women’s Sephardic songs – magical ritual songs, laments, party songs, lullabies and more. With Afra Rubino’s personal and virtuosic flamenco guitar playing, the songs are backed up with a multifaceted soundscape that reflects the traveling history of Sephardic music around the Mediterranean. Between the pieces of music, you will also hear more about how these particular songs came to be!
On stage:
Irene Pelayo Lind – vocals
Afra Rubino – guitar
This concert is a collaboration between Medelhavsmuseet and FlamencoFredag. Flamenco Fredag is funded by the Swedish Arts Council and the city of Stockholm.
