Widenius is based on flamenco guitar melodies, but his distinctive musical language is constantly influenced by his surroundings. At Flamenco Guitar Night he plays traditional Spanish flamenco songs and new compositions of his own for flamenco guitar. The listener is transported to the warmth of Andalusia by a virtuoso guitar. Joonas Widenius’ talent surprised even the tour manager of flamenco guitar master Paco de Lucia, who wrote: “I am very surprised to hear such a genuine flamenco feeling from northern Europe. Joonas Widenius really has a Spanish heart!”

As a solo guitarist, he has performed extensively, either solo or with his trio, at various festivals (e.g. Pori Jazz, Ravensburg jazznacht), clubs (e.g. Finland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Russia) and concert halls.
