Ingrid Mugu’s intensive courses in Tampere

Ingrid Mugu “La Filigrana” is an Estonian flamenco dancer, choreographer and pedagogue of the young generation based in Seville. She studied at the Fundación Cristina Heeren and is the first Estonian to work in Seville’s tablaos. She was nominated for the Estonian National Theatre Prize for her work “Soledad”. Ingrid has been the main performer at Tampere Flamenco Festival and has also performed in Warsaw, Vienna, Helsinki and Malmö.

Intensive courses in Tampere Wed 27.8. – Thu 28.8.2025

Basic level, Tientos at 17.00-18.30

The course introduces traditional tientos choreography. We will also learn about the special features of the discipline and go over things you need to know about tientos when dancing. The course is suitable for those who have mastered the basics of flamenco or have been practising for a few years.

Technique at 18.30-19.30

This course will work on foot technique, pirouettes and good upper body control. The technique class is suitable for participants of both levels.

Advanced level, Siguiriyas with bata at 19.30-21.00

This class teaches how to interpret siguiriyas with a bata de cola skirt. We will start by practising the bata technique and then move on to the choreography. The bata technique of the course is based on the Sevillian school.

Thursday’s choreography lessons will be with guitarist Toni Jokiniitty and singer Sirkka Laitinen.

The language of instruction is English.
